Warranty and Repair Charges

NEW YORK -- I recently had an issue with one of the pumps for my Thermospa park model. I went with the ThermoSpa Brand because of the warranty and reputation as a quality product. My unit is approximately three years old. I called for service and told them what the problem was and they have all my information on file including my warranty. The service person arrived, took a look at the unit. He was kind of unfriendly, which is OK and then determined that the unit needed a new pump he never explained to me what the charges would be to change his pump out.

After he was done, he comes to me with his billing computer and shows me a bill that I owe him $653. I explain to him that the unit is under warranty and it's only three years old. How could I be charged that much money he went back to his truck he called the office and then came back with a bill of $553 and explain to me that only the part is under warranty and it is prorated so they gave me $100 off the part all the other charges off for travel and labor and time spent, which was approximately two hours so when they tell you that it's under warranty for 10 years be prepared to be paying for most of the warranty work labor is not included and travel time is not included. They won't tell you that in the sales demo.

Way Too Expensive! Big Sales Job

ROYAL OAK, MICHIGAN -- Was told they started at $5000. But the cheapest version for a stripped down model was $11,000. This was a Maui 3 person. For all the bells and whistles it was over 18,000. Are they crazy? Hard sell, wants you to sign today. Won't take no for an answer. She also stated that "some people can't afford it". I can afford it but I'm also not an idiot. I can buy 5 Home Depot versions for $3500 apiece. They also want you to sign a disclosure so you can't post prices but I refused to sign anything. Felt like an aluminum siding sales job from the 1970's. Don't bother!

WEST LINN, OREGON -- ThermoSpas has been good. Although it's expensive, we like the quality of construction and the features that the Park Avenue model has. It is the right size of what we were looking for. It also has a neck massager and a seat with a lot of jets on it. We haven't even used it yet though. I have to get our electrical set up before I start using the spa but I'm sure we'll be pleased with it.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- The people from ThermoSpas who came out and talked to us were really great. They knew everything about the spa and we did not feel pressured in to buying from them. We also liked the ease of getting to the internal stuff if we needed to and since we have a family member who is an electrician, it is easier to fix if the spa breaks.

We go the Park Avenue model which has a lot of features that we really like. I had a bad back and I like the lounge chair part of it and the bubbles. And then, my husband has a really bad neck problem, so he likes the neck massager part and the jets. He also has trouble sleeping because he has so much pain but doesn't like to take medication. He uses the spa all the time, including before he goes to bed. It relaxes him enough so he could try to get a good night's sleep. The spa really helps. He loves it and we are very happy with it.

However, we did not feel that their people prepared us enough with the chemicals and how to test the water. We have the tutorial but we have enough problems with some of the levels. It also costs $16,000 which is a lot of money but it has a very good warranty and guarantee. So, we feel comfortable with that. Also, ThermoSpas has been around for a long time so they gotta be doing something good. Moreover, their people keep calling and checking in on us and making sure we are still happy with the product.

COMMERCE, GEORGIA -- ThermoSpas is built better than some of the other hot tubs. They might've been cheaper, but they weren't built good enough. I needed a small tub to go on my back porch and the rep of ThermoSpas said that they have the Atlantis model. I have the cover lifter and the 32 jets in it. It's got a light on the inside too, and my daughter loves that. Their installation team was extremely nice when they came and so far, I love the quality of the tub.

QUINLAN, TEXAS -- ThermoSpas is a top quality brand and the Atlantis Hot Tub suited our needs. It has a captain's chair and has quite a few jets. It has bubbles too. The tub is worth the money and my wife uses it most of the time. Their customer service is great as well. Their team is very easygoing and they are extremely responsive if I have an issue when I call. I have recommended ThermoSpas to a couple of our neighbors who wanted to get a spa.

EAST STROUDSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA -- We were looking for a hot tub but we had a limited amount of space. I wanted a good name brand because of the cost and I wanted a tub that would fit four people. ThermoSpas has been widely known so I went with them. Their rep called to schedule an appointment. A guy showed up to do his presentation and suggested the Atlantis hot tub. He told us that would be the one that would work best in my area. Then, the delivery of the tub was set up. The guys who came to install it were nice and they did a good job. But I was expecting to have professional installers and not an older man, his wife, and his nephew to come and drop off the $12,000 hot tub.

I'm also annoyed that there is no headrest but I cannot get them for that model. One thing that irked me a bit too was that the salesman did not follow up after it was delivered to see how everything went. I expected him to call and ask how it went or if I had any questions. But I use the tub every day and sometimes multiple times a day. ThermoSpas is one of the best investments I have ever made and I love it!

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK -- The company that sold us our last spa went bankrupt. So, when we did our research, we wanted the security of going with an established spa company and the quality of the spa. The Concord Hot Tub from ThermoSpas was the right combination of the number of jets we desired combined with price point and size.

We went with the Platinum Package and it met the footprint of where we were putting it. The spa has 92 jets and it has three pumps. It is a comfortable four-seater but it can fit five. It also has the cover lift assist and it is awesome. However, I would like that the side panels could be put together without screws and that it was more of an interlocking system. But the quality of my tub is first class. The price we paid reflects on the craftsmanship and how it works. It's quiet as advertised too. I looked at the other spas in the market and I couldn't be happier with my tub.

The salesman who came to my house was a nice guy as well. When I needed him for a certain follow-up, he was very helpful. The delivery guys were great too. I also called up technical support with some electrical questions. I was having issues with the first contractors, so I had to figure some things out for him. Everybody was just very helpful. Margaret also called me post-purchase to let me know she is my contact person if I need to order any chemicals or if I have any questions.

SOUTH EASTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- My experience with ThermoSpas has been terrific. The first time we bought a spa, we got a ThermoSpas. The gentleman who came originally to help us purchase one signed us all up and got everything started. And then the hot tub was constructed and sent to us. The people who brought it were incredibly talented. They even had to carry it up some stairs which they don't normally do. We were a special case, but they were very good, pleasant and professional. They didn't damage any other plants they had to move by and seemed to do it without hurting anything on their bodies, which I found amazing.

The tub we had then was slightly larger than what we have now and had lasted for 12 years until the pipes underneath it froze because it was zero degrees during the winter. We got somebody out and he put a new motor in it. When he turned it on, all the water drained out because the pipes were broken. So, we had to buy a new one. We put it off for a while 'cause there were a lot of things going on. But the deck was so empty without the hot tub there.

We were so impressed with our first hot tub and wanted a bigger one since our two daughters live in the neighborhood and they have friends over. My husband said that we didn't need to get the fancy one and could just get a cheap one but I said no so we got the ThermoSpas Atlantis spa which comfortably seats four or five people. I like it better than the other one. I like the reclining part of the spa so I could lean back. I also got a round thing for my knees which was really nice and two strong pumps where I could direct the pulsing water if I got a sore back or foot. The pumps made them feel better. It has a good timer on it too so it would automatically shut off which reminds us not to spend too much time in the hot tub. But my husband decided that he could just reset the time.

We also like that the cover doesn't fall down as compared to the first tub we had wherein when you folded it up, it went down almost to the bottom of the tub. The new tub has a wonderful and cool mechanism where I just open it up. We use the tub every day and we enjoy it. It has been a good part of our life this summer and we are looking forward to using it this winter. In fact, my husband already has a snow shovel by the back door so we could shovel our path about eight feet to the hot tub. I highly recommend the whole ThermoSpas product, the experience of buying one and dealing with the people who installed it.

STEELE, ALABAMA -- We had just moved to a new house and I wanted to spend on a hot tub that was gonna last and won't have to worry about. I read that ThermoSpas has the ozonator, and they are the best on the market for keeping water clean with lower maintenance. I purchased a Concord tub from them and we love it. I chose this tub because of the size, dimension and the options with the pumps and bubbles. I've owned many hot tubs and we used them every day. The previous ones I have owned were of lesser quality and had less with the therapy and the water options.

The biggest thing for me was their customer service. Everything was perfect through the whole sales pitch when the guy came out and the delivery too. The tub is on the upper-end and it took a little convincing to spend that kind of money on a hot tub. But for us getting in it every day, I knew it was worth the value to get that top of the line qualities of a hot tub.
