Dr Luther Knight DDS Complaint - Complaint - Dentist

Review by cousindebbie on 2001-12-26
HAGERSTOWN, MARYLAND -- I went to the dental office almost a year ago now. I was told to pay $850.00, which the office told me was my 30% after insurance paid the rest for dental work. To date the dental office has not submitted the claim to my insurance carrier and refuses to send me an itemized bill so I can submit it for myself. The insurance cannot verify if I was overcharged until they receive the claim. This dentist refuses to do so. I have complained to all government office, including Insurance Fraud but since he will not submit anything they all tell me there is nothing they can do. Sounds to me this dentist knows the system and figured a way to get full payment from patients instead of having to do the write off from the Insurance companies is is signed with, and the State won't do anything because he will not send it in to Insurance. And unfortunately I am the one stuck with no-one to help. Needless to say I will never go to this dentist again. I think the state should offer some kind of help int these sorts of matters. If this doctor figured out this way to get around the system, and I was intuitive enough to find it out, others are probably doing the same thing. Just not a lot of people check on their claims to find it out.

You paid $850 and did not get a receipt? You can report him to your states Dental authority. They will get the records and review and advise. Good luck.
