Denny's Restaurant Complaint - Service and attitude
On 7/28 my family and I met at Denny's in Clackamas, Oregon to have a late dinner. There were five of us and we were seated at a round table in the back. The waitress brought us over menus, but the menu on the table looked pretty good. We noticed all the menus were greasy and requested some wipies to wash our hands after handling the menus. She brought us the wipies, but made no attempt to wipe off the greasy menus! We chose our meals and she took our order. In the meantime, we had requested water, and coffee, she brought water only for the 3 persons requesting it, not the others! When our orders arrived, we found the salt and peppers shakers were also greasy and sticky. My husband used his wipie to clean them and we enjoyed our meals. When we had finished, the waitress came to the table and my daughter requested an take home container, when she brought it back, my teenage grandaughter requested a container, that set the waitress off! She rolled her eyes and stomped off to retrieve another container. We were very polite with her and not once insulting or demanding in any extraordinary way. When we went to pay the bill, she had her "sour face" on and refused to smile, after paying she made the nasty comment to us, "Sorry your meal was so greasy and miserable". Huh? This girl has a big problem. In Oregon we have Health regulations, and standards. I own a food concession, and carry a food card, and I know cleanliness from filth. I have decided to report Denny's to the health department and to the news media's "Dirty Dining" program. We'll see if they clean up their act. I won't waste my time trying to report the girl, I'm sure she will eventually hang herself and lose her job. I have only one thing to say, my employees are always personable and getting paid to treat the customers very well. They are our "bread and butter." Denny's has gotten a reputation over the years, and it seems that they don't really care.
