Cingular Wireless Complaint - Existing reliable don't get a good upgrade, while new customers get better service
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- Today was the last straw that broke the camel's back. I have been unhappy with the cingular service, but didn't bother to change it as I don't want to spend too much time on running errands like this. But, today I was forced to face them, as I woke up finding out that my phone is dead. I went to a store, and the rude and lazy man barely moved from the counter, and barely answered my question. Finally he came around, and said that I am not eligible for an upgrade. Well, I had printed 15 pages of phone options from my cingular account, that I am eligible to buy for a lower price. I had confirmed that already when I talked to the customer service rep on the phone before going to the store. Well, it was wrong. The guy in the store, dumped me in front of the phones, and said read the signs, and see what's available to you. Well, I had just come from the optometrist, and my eyes were dialated. But, he wasn't interested in helping me at all, so he hadn't even heard me when I told him that as I walked into the store innitially. I argued with him as to why the internet is giving me a different information than the store, and how the customer service rep sent me to the store to pick up one of those offered phones. He sent me to a phone, and dialed the customer service number for me and told me to talk to them since they are the ones who sent me to his store. so, that was the end of that store. I was not able to get directions to another cingular store Not even a cross street from the second customer service rep on the phone. She gave me a few mailing addresses, and since I am not from this city, I picked one of them that sounded familiar, and started driving towards it. I finally arrived there, to find that the road is blocked. 45 minutes had passed. Another 30 minutes passed, until I finally arrived at another cingular store. They barely helped me, but at least they showed me a few items, and compared prices for me. They also gave me wrong information, as I found out when I came home to order the phone online. To make matters worse, I called cingular to ask them why I have to pay so much for my upgrade, while the new customers pay nothing for their new phones. I was transferred to the customer relation person, who treated me even worse than the first guy at the first cingular store. He didn't help me at all, and told me that I am ineligible for an upgrad all together. I asked him why, and his answer was that my score is not high enough. I protested that how come 3 years of an expensive package and on time payments is not high enough for them, and how come the internet option is telling me the opposite. At the end he suggested that it's just my OPINION, and that I should cancell my plan if I am not so happy. I have gotten his name to report him to his supervisor. But, I am afraid that they are all careless about this matter, because now cingular is even a bigger company, and doesn't have to impress anyone. So, the existing customers will get nothing since cingular is like a monopaly now.
Here is a list of other problems I have had with cingular wiresless, which I am sure many of you are familiar with.
1-dropped calls for every call that lasts around 30 minutes.
3-my road side service put me on hold for such a long time, that it was unsafe to stay on the road waiting for cingular to finally come to my rescue before I get hit by other cars
4-charged me on my mobile to mobile calls even though I had specifically asked them if my plan covers that.
5-and remember, when they supposedly upgraded their voice message system? It was a mess for many days.
Tomorrow, I may not be a cingular customer anymore. I am switching, and I am taking my family member with me.
Tomorrow, I am also calling cingular back, to report the names of those two peole to their quality control supervisors. I don't waist time on these things, but I think we have to speak up if we want any chages to be made. Otherwise the phone companies will continue to make rules for us, and ruin our routine, like they did to me today.
