Hewlett-Packard Company Informative - WARNING: HP DOESN'T HONOR WARRANTIES
When you look at other Reviews, customers run into the same problem -- they don't honor their warranties. They also transfer you around several times.
I have had the *WORST* experience with HP. Two months ago, I bought an HP monitor from Best Buy. It stopped working almost immediately. It
began making a "knocking" sound and basically went out.
There was no light -- it was black. I contacted Best Buy who refused to replace it or even let me exchange it for a less expensive model. This
was a a regular tube monitor Best Buy sold on sale for $90.00. They said I needed to contact HP as it was still within warranty since I only
bought it two months ago.
I contacted HP SEVERAL TIMES and have spent hours on the phone simply trying to get my monitor replaced. They basically lied and told me it's out of warranty and claimed Best Buy had it on their shelf for a year. I contacted Best Buy and they said this is not true. Well --
lucky for me and not for them -- I recently got approved to spend on a new computer and it will NOT be an HP.
I needed access to a monitor I had to go out and buy another one. I found a great deal on a
FLAT PANEL e-machine for under $100. Imagine my surprise, when it works great and is far better than the HP -- which was more money for an old tube monitor at that.
As I type this, I have spoken to 4 different people in India trying to handle this basic issue of replacing a monitor and am left with the
feeling that HP is basically a scam.
How else could I feel as a consumer when I spend $90.00 for some old monitor that Best Buy has sitting around and decides to pawn off on me
and then it doesn't work and I cannot
a) get my money back
b) exchange it.
