Sprint/Nextel wireless Complaint - Fast Talking Sprint Wireless Sales Guy
The other day I got a call on my Sprint PCS phone from a very enthusiastic (shoulda been my first clue) Sprint salesman. "Mr. Pirate, since you and your wife have been such "valued customers" for so long (and since our current contract is up) we'd like to send you NEW cell phones to try for 30 days at NO COST to you, and encourage you to extend your contract to 2008! "Woah!," I said, "This is PWP, the CEO of True Regulars on M3C! I won't fall for such scams, what's the catch!?" "No scams, Mr. Pirate, in fact we'll give you the next two months FREE if you sign up!"
Being a "most trusted advisory" here, I know if something is "too good to be true.........." "Well," I said, "if it's FREE and I can CANCEL at no cost to me if I'm not happy with the phones, etc., then sure, go ahead and send the phones."
Two days later, the phones arrive on my doorstep, along with a notice inside. "A fee of 18.00 may be charged to your account to activate each phone." WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That hardly seems FREE to ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where's the FREE MONTHS, ETC???????????????????????? There was nothing in writing about trying for FREE, returning for free - NOTHING the fast talking sales guy was so "enthusiastic" about!
By now, I'm steamed, the Parrot is most unhappy, so we call the very same number of the "enthusiastic salesman" to sort this whole matter, and likely cancel my contract. The response was a phone-tree that ultimately lead me to the recorded message.............."Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Valued Customer Program, all representatives are currently busy, please leave your name and number and you'll receive a call back in 1 business day." Fair enough, I left my particulars with them yesterday, and have gotten no return call yet. I've also called several times during the night and this morning to receive not only the same recording, but and additional one that says, "The voice mailbox is full, we can record no more messages."
I'd say this doesn't look good for either me or Sprint. I've yet (and won't) activate these phones, and if I don't hear back soon, I'll send 'em back postage due and cancel my current cell contract. Is THIS any way to treat a VALUED CUSTOMER and a member of the TRUE REGULARS?! SPRINT PCS customers BE WARNED!
