NCO Financial Systems Complaint - Harrassing phone calls
BALTIMORE, MAINE -- Recently I answered the call from Maryland that kept appearing on our caller ID. The man on the other end was extremely rude and after sharing what he said to me with my husband he looked up the company and found this complaint website. I believe that he initially violated the law by sharing information with me (because I was the wife) for an account that I had no access to. Then during the course of the conversation he had the gall to suggest that he talked with people every day that are in this situation and have greater debts than the one they are claiming is against my husband and that they say they are living paycheck to paycheck but when they analyse the situation they find that the have jewelry or appliances that the can pawn to get the cash needed to pay off the debt owed. He even suggested that we borrow the money from family or get a loan to pay off the debt owed to them. I was told that there were no payment options, that the amount had to be paid in full in one payment and that if we did not make a decision in the matter of a few days would have an even greater debt owed because they would take it to arbitration and we would be responsible for those fees. Thanks to the person who mentioned the Fair Debt Collection Act; we will read this to see what other violations Mr. Vice (can you believe that is the name he gave me) conducted during our conversation.
