Wells Fargo Complaint - They Just Can't Get it Right!!!
LIVERMORE, CALIFORNIA -- My recent nightmare experience with Wells Fargo (Livermore, CA) branch was in regards to my son’s checking and savings accounts. He went into the Marines and I have been taking care of his accounts, as per his request. I noticed he was being charged some outrageous fees on both accounts.
I visited the Livermore, CA branch in person to inquire about these fees. I had his military paperwork in hand and explained to the representative that my son could not take care of these overcharges because he is in boot camp and has no means of taking care of this issue. It was a fight getting the representative to help me. After a lot of pleading on my part, he finally agreed to assist me.
He offered to waive all the overcharges as well as the service fees because they do offer a “Service Members’ Civil Relief Act” for those serving our country. He said he would credit my son’s account for the past two months for all service charges and the credits would appear on his next statement.
On Aug. 21st, I opened the new bank statement and was not happily surprised. There were no credits issued whatsoever, yet, they did charge the account three times over for one of the service fees. There were also a monthly service charge fee and bill pay service charge; both of which were supposed to be waived.
I called the bank representative and left a message for him to call me, yet he didn’t return my call. Yippy…I get to waste more of my self-employed time going into the bank today to try to resolve this.
A couple years ago, all of a sudden I was being charged a $20 service fee…no warning, no explanation. I visited the bank and the representative had no idea what the charge was for and said she’d credit my account and stop the charge from being automatically withdrawn from my account. Well, it took three in-person visits, two letters to the Wells Fargo corporate office and a LOT of frustration to finally resolve the issue.
Sure- I would love to close my accounts with Wells Fargo, yet have heard similar stories from customers of other banks as well. Anybody have a reliable bank to refer me to? I’d truly appreciate any suggestions!
Thank you for your time. Enjoy this day!
