Superior Chrysler Jeep, La Puente CA Informative - Bad experience at Superior Chrysler Jeep in La Puente, CA

Review by LilyT on 2006-08-27
CALIFORNIA -- Sigh... more deception from Superior (read the other review on Superior )!

On Friday Aug 18th 2006, I found a Mitsubitshi Galant published by Superior Chrysler on and gave Superior a call. We had a series of phone calls going back and forth for the WHOLE ENTIRE DAY to confirm on the car specs and credit issues. At 8:45pm the same day, we were still communicating on the phone and arranged for a visit the next day at 9:30am to see the car. I was all ready to negotiate and drive out the car. I went thru all the hassle of picking up my cousin and drove all the way there from Ontario. When I arrived there, a young sales guy was told by the floor manager to look show us some cars. I was already slightly irritated cos I only wanted to see the Galant.

We walked the whole yard and couldn't find any Galant. Then the sales guy said "I'm sorry but its already sold". I wasn't too polite since I had made the appt to see that specific car! I made it clear that I'm real pissed, that they had wasted my time and they'll never get a single cent out of me ever... so I just walked out! It is highly unlikely that they could have sold the car in between 9pm last night and 9am this morning... even if they did, they should have the courtesy to inform me by phone. It is CLEARLY an underhanded technique to get me into their door, and it is an insult to my goodwill. And as a sales person myself, I feel really embarrased that there are so many sales ppl out there giving our sales industry a bad name. Shame on them!

[the below updated 1 week later...]
If you ever need to buy a car, you may consider a car broker. I finally bought mine at a car broker downtown and the service was fantastic! I didn't have to haggle, they gave me their best price and we worked out all the details on the phone. The same day, I went down to their office, signed the papers, they helped me return my rental car and I just drove out. It was truly excellent service! You'd be surprise that even though they don't stock any cars, each sales person there averaged 1 car sales per day. People just love honesty and this company was all out to help! Heck, they will probably get at least 3 referral from me within this year alone! Afterall, I'm a sales professional as well and sales is all about network!

I'm sorry I can't publish the broker's name here but just look up yellow pages or whatever other resources, and call some of them. If they can commit everything on the phone... that's the one you can trust! But you need to know what you want and your minimum expectations. All the best to your car purchase! And enjoy the ride...

She could have put a deposit on a non-existant vehcile. What good would that do other than she would have had to fight to get the deposit back. They didn't have the car at 9pm The night before if they didn't have it a 9am the next morning. I do agree, all car dealerships try to sell you something different (meaning more expensive) once you get there.

LOL Thanks for the entertainment. First, the Gallant was probably gone for a few days. About 50% of the time, when the customer is FINALLY at the dealership they can be switched to another car. Thats why they do far as putting a deposit down, no dealership is going to take a car off the market for a "possible" sale. LOL LOL thanks for starting off my day with a laughj...
