Get Digital Online.com Complaint - Very Bad Business Practices
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I placed an order online with getdigitalonline.com, it was for a Kodak 3400 digital camera. Then I decided to call their so-called customer service to try and expedite the shipping as it was getting very near to Christmas and this was a gift. After being on hold awhile I was finally helped by someone who also sold me a battery charger for a good price. He told me that my order would be shipping later that day or the next day. (this was on or about December 13th) Then the beginning of the following week I called to see if I could get a tracking number for my order. I tried and tried to call but kept getting the message that they were too busy to take my call so when I finally didn’t get that message I waited on hold for awhile again. When I finally did speak to a live person she told me she couldn’t give me a tracking number as “the order shipped from another warehouse”. She also said I would received it in 7-10 business days, and by the way I ordered this to be shipped second day from UPS. When I stated that she said, “oh well then you should be receiving it then.” I was a bit wary at that time but hoped for the best. Then I received an email saying I needed to call and confirm my order before shipment. So again I waited on hold for a long time just to be told again my order was shipped but couldn’t have a tracking number and to disregard the email. Enough days went by and I knew I should have received my order if it really had been sent when I was told it was. On December 20th, I called in the evening to see what was really going on. I was on hold for over an hour I, was cut off once and spoke to no less then three different people who supposedly were going to help me. Finally someone got on the phone and told me the camera I ordered wasn’t in stock and couldn’t tell me why I was told it was shipped. I asked when they’d be getting more and he said January. I then said I wanted my order cancelled. Thinking at that time this whole nightmare was over, but unfortunately I was wrong. On January 8, 2002 I had a message on my answering machine from Henry at getdigitalonline regarding my order! I waited until January 9, 2002 to return the call. Again I was on hold for no less than thirty minutes. I was finally transferred to Henry and he told me they were trying to ship my camera and it kept getting returned! I told him that the order was cancelled and I didn’t want it anymore. Then he tried to sell it to me at a discount again I said no that I had purchased the camera directly from Kodak. He continued to try and tell me it was being shipped, so my boss overheard my call and jumped on and told him the same thing I was trying to. Then I called my credit card company to see if I’d been charged yet and I haven’t. Then I wrote an email to their customer service department reiterating what I said in the phone call. Hopefully this will be the end of my dealings with this company.
