Sony Complaint - Playstation 2
KIRKLAND, WASHINGTON -- One of the primary reasons I purchased a Playstation 2 Console was due to its backward-compatability. The ability to play original Playstation games, caused the need to own two consoles obsolete, and therefore I gave away my original console. However, my PS2 has become unable to operate with original Playstation software, even new titles that I have recently purchased. Therefore I called tech support to find out if we could fix the problem through trouble-shooting or some other means. The only solution that was provided was to send the system in for repair and pay a fee totalling about $130. At this price, it would be less expensive for me to re-purchase an old playstation console, which would undoubtedly play ALL of my original playstation games. This would also fix my issue, as I am having no problems with the PS2 titles, CDs or DVD movies. However, this idea does not appeal to me as it negates the primary reason for originally purchasing the system.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I believe that I should be offered a repair or replacement for my product at a minimal cost. I am a good consumer and have spent several hundred dollars on Playstation equipment and software over the course of the past few years since I first purchased the original console. I am likely to spend thousands in the future, as I have been convinced that Sony provides the best product on the market. However, I am likely to switch my alliance should nothing be done to accomodate me. I strongly believe that the Playstation line of products are the best on the market, and I would just like to see the same kind of service from their customer support.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
