Best Buy Complaint - 2 Year Replacement Warranty
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I’m writing this letter to express how unsatisfied I am with your 2 Year Replacement Plan warranty I purchased with a Playstation II system from your Best Buy store.
When I was sold this replacement plan, the salesman from Best Buy told me the Playstation II would be replaced at the store for any problems; and he highly recommended it because the Playstation II’s have problems with overheating due to the slimmer style (no room for cooling fans).
Well the Playstation II stopped working this summer (during school break) and when it was taken to the store, we were informed the Replacement Plan warranties are now handled through mail only. The claim was filed online on August 8. The label was printed and the item was mailed August 9.
To date, we have not received a voucher for the replacement Playstation II. And this is not because we haven’t been trying to stay on top of this. I called 8/14 and spoke with one of your representatives and she promised me, she was coding the account and having the replacement voucher mailed no later than 8/28. She also informed me that your company changed your policies about 6 months ago and no longer allowed the items to be replaced at the stores. (How fair is that to the client—changing the rules after they’ve paid for their warranty). I called 9/6 and spoke with Gary employee #7887 and was told they still hadn’t received the item back, and there was no indication that I had spoken to anyone else about this earlier and that he would make sure the voucher was mailed to me by September 27.
WHAT KIND OF GAME ARE YOU GUYS PLAYING WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS???? I just want to replace the Playstation II. (If I hadn’t bought this warranty with this purchase, I would have bought another system immediately and my son would have been happy). I can promise you that I will never purchase another product, of any kind, that would benefit having a replacement warranty at Best Buy stores. I will only shop in your stores for CDs and DVDs.
Years ago, I remember everyone used MCI for long distance calling and then their customer service became awful…..AOL for internet connection and then their customer service became awful…..Best Buy where are you headed?
