Miracle Blade Informative - My research of knife set

I've been doing some research on the Miracle blade knife set. My wife had heard about them from her friend and asked me to go online to buy some. Well I can't help but research something for days before sinking any money into it, so I scowered numerous sites investigating what others had to say about them. I thought I would share what I found.

From the reviews I read, it appeared to be a 50/50 split on folks who were happy with the product and folks who wanted to return them. The most common complaint was the "stainless steel" steak knives that come with the set seem to get rust spots on them if left in the sink for any extended period of time. Apparently the other knives in the set don't have this problem, but the steak knives did for most reviews I read.

Everyone seems to agree the knives are very sharp as advertised, however the claim that they never need sharpening appears to be false. Most folks said you need to sharpen the knives on a regular basis just as you would other knife sets. Some did claim they knives have never needed sharpening, but I am guessing it all depends on how much they are used, or what they are used to cut.

The lifetime warranty regarding defects to the knives seems to be hit or miss also. Most folks who complained about problems with knives, such as premature dulling or rust spots, did get new sets mailed to them. Others seemed to still be waiting on their replacements.

The overall consensus seems to be they are a decent value for the price, but don't count on them being the last set you ever own.

We've decided to take a pass on them, or shall I say I've convinced my wife that our old knife set works just fine for now.

Ya' know, if your old knife set works well, why replace it? Thanks for all the info, though.
