Federal Express Corporation Complaint - Fed Ex Claims
CALIFORNIA -- I recently moved across the country from Mass to Cali. I had FedEx ship my stereo - a 5disc changer, speakers and a receiver to my new address. When it arrived, I found that it had been smashed and broken during shipping.
I thought that it was okay because I had insured the package, but I was told by customer service that I needed to have proof of value or I would not receive any money back. I was promised the claims forms would come in the mail and that FedEx would pick up my package at the time I said to view the damage and write a report.
Well, FedEx came and picked up my package when I was not home - roomate didnt know that all of the material wasn't in the box. A month later, I had not received the claims forms which I had at that point called 4 times about and had heard nothing about my stereo.
I came home one day to find my stereo sitting in the original box I had shipped it in, which had been torn up and then taped together. They had sent my package from San Fran to Mass and then back again!!!! They had not packed the box and my stereo is now completely ruined. What may have been fixable before has now become irreparable!! I called FedEx and basically was told that it was not their fault, they would not give me corporate headquarters number and that I will receive claims forms in the mail!!
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with customer service. Do NOT ship with them if you value your product because they will ruin it!!!!!!!!!!
