Scott Properties Complaint - Electricity

Review by kirk123 on 2006-09-21
DEERFIELD BEACH, FLORIDA -- My complex where I live is a complete joke.
How am i gonna be charged a 200 hundred dollar electric bill, when i hire my ac to 80 degrees when i leave during the day. I am gone out of the house for 8-9 hours and the ac is on 80, then i get home and put the ac on 75, then when go to bed my ac goes on 73. There is no way my bill should be 200 dollars. I cant even cook food at the degree it says on the box because my stove gives off too much heat, i have to cook ot on 325 if the box says 350. The units are obviously very old and they wont do anything about it. I am spending a good amount of money to love there a month, plus the fact that the whole complex is infested with spiders, to where my 2 1/2 year old son has been bitten numerous of times.
All they seem to cater to in my compex is all the Brazilian, Portegese, etc people.
Is this or is this not America??? !!!!

You have a month and some of that is already over. Get ou as soon as you can. In the mean time call the helth department. Good luck

Agreed. If you can afford it, find a new place to live. A few kid-safe repellant ideas: Put chestnuts around the exterior walls of every room in the house as well as on all the windowsills, I've read it has some spider repellant powers. I've also read Victor's brand safe insecticide for crawling insects (Home Depot) is good. Has mint oil and detergent in it, so house safe.

You had a valid complaint until you put in "All they seem to cater to in my compex is all the Brazilian, Portegese, etc people.
Is this or is this not America??? !!!!"

It is, indeed, America...a melting pot of people from all over the world. This includes Brazilians, Portuguese, etc.

Honestly, $200 doesn't sound off. My parents live in that area and it's HOT HOT HOT all but about 3 weeks a year in dead winter. Last I checked, their bill was around $450 a month. Even at 80, the unit would run quite a bit or you would find it around 88-90 when you got home. At 73, the thing rarely, if at all, shuts off at night. I guess the question would be, is it your first month there and if not, what were you charged previously? I assume your hot water heater is electric too.

This is another dumb post. What does Scott Homes have to do with your electric bill? Did the bill include a deposit or not as you said you were there a month? Did you check out the place first? If spiders are all over, are others complaining or only you. Dumb post, most of us get spiders at times and we "KILL" them, by spraying or a bug bomb or something. Of what constructive value is this post? Yes I am "constructively critical" as a post on here "should" be of value to other readers.

Slim, I know you're trying to help, but you seem to be speculating a bit?
Posted by Slimjim on 2006-09-21:
How is that speculating?

You're assuming your parents place and this guy's apt are not only in the same area, but also of the same size and type. I know you can't wait to jump in and post, to try to seem important, but please let those who have some actualy knowledge have a crack at it first, ok?

Assume? the poster lives in Deerfield Beach, and I think I know where my parents live. Unless poster lives in a closet, I gave enough room for error on place size. Now again, why are you trolling?

"but please let those who have some actualy knowledge have a crack at it first, ok?" ..Well, let's put the grammatical and spelling abortion of that statement aside, you're not saying you are in this category I hope. What was your first crack at it? Oh yes, "interesting". There's something kirk can hang his/her hat on.

Oh, so now you're psychic too? There's NO way you can have a clue to the relative square footage of the dwelling, type of a/c unit (no not in a dakota) whether it's upstairs/downstairs, facing south, the R-factor of insulation, etc., etc. You just like to make comments to inflate your pathetic sense of self worth. Please restrict your trolling to the unmonitored community forums.

Kirk, how long have you lived there? Judging from your post I'd bet that you are from another country as well. Am I correct?

Are you sure another apartment isn't tapped into your line?

Don't know why addy left your clearly abusive bullkr@p up pirate, but like I said before, your making a spectacle of yourself.
