CARTER MOTEL Complaint - Dishonest motel owner - do not stay

LAGRANGE, TEXAS -- I was schedule to stay at the Carter Motel last April while volenteering at the MS150. The day I was to arrive I canceled at 2:30 after being informed that not only this place was a dump but also unsafe. I called the motel and told the owner we were cancelling. Cancellaion policy was by 4:00 PM date of arrival. He was very upset becuase he had already turned on the window unit to the motel. Bottom line beyond the unfit conditions at the motel the owner charged my credit card in spite of the fact that I cancled within policy. I disputed but he has told my credit card company that I never called. I am still disputing the charges and have provided the cc company wiht my cell recoreds showing the time I called. The owner is dishonest adn the motel is the most deplorable place I have ever seen. Trash all over the parking area including a couch that was covered in more that was covered in more trash, chicken wire fences be each room to keep your animals and many rooms with broken down doors. Filthy place and a dishonest owner who will lie to keep your money.

As long as you have your cellphone bill with their number on it, the credit card company should be able to honor your dispute.

Chicken wire fences to keep your animals? I've been to Texas and not experienced a motel like that!
