Mayo Clinic Arizona Informative - Mayo Clinic treats employees poorly
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA -- My complaint is that I was wrongfully terminated after working at Mayo Clinic while giving permission to deal with my teenage son's substance problem. Working at Mayo supposedly brings all kinds of wonderful benefits including employee assistance program etc. When I told my supervisor my situation I was advised I could have 2 days to get my son into counseling, etc and then the same supervisor claimed she did not give me the time off. I also got stiffed for the "10 free " counseling sessions besides the each person deductible of $200.00 in my family for health care. And if you see any outside doctor (I chose to keep my gynecologist whom I have had for years)you also get smacked in the face with an outside lab deductible, NOT covered with the $200.00 each person deductible. So all in all, Mayo was a complete financial fiasco as an employee-oh and not to mention they are cheap-for my extremely thorough job of patient reviews, scheduling appointments, radiology, I got a whopping $12.10 an hour. They may be great for patients, but prospective employees approach with caution!!
