Dish Network Complaint - Installation woes
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I had an appointment to have the dish installed on the house I just moved into. The window was from 12pm-5pm. At around 4:45pm, I called to verify that they were still going to be coming out. I didn't want to keep waiting around if they werent going to come. I just moved into my house and I had run around to a lot of places to get things to make the place livable. I thought they would have called if something happened and they weren't going to make it.
The first person I talked to on the phone kept trying to call the dispatch department. Then after several attempts at that she tried to get me to reschedule. I asked her if there was a number I could call to talk to the dispatcher. I got hung up on. HUNG UP ON!!
I immediately called back and went through the process again. I talked to another person who tried to contact the dispatcher. After about 15 minutes, she told me that there was a dispatch out to have the dispatcher call me. I asked her when that would be. She couldn't give me an answer other than "There is a dispatch out. So he should be calling you." So I waited some more. That call ended around 5:20pm
At about 7:45pm, I called again. I told the agent what had happened so far. I explained that I was very unhappy with my experience thus far. I wanted to know what the status was with the technician. She told me it was too late. The dispatch office was closed. She asked if I would like to reschedule my appointment. I asked to speak to a manager. She offered a month free, but they still wouldn't guarantee that I wouldn't waste another 5 hours. When I finally got to talk to a manager, who told me that they don't do installations after 5pm. I would have to wait a week for the installation and potentially waste another day.
I told the manager that I was going to cancel. Michelle in the accounts department was actually very nice and helpful. She offered me free movie packages, but it wasn't enough to make me want to give the installation another try.
In this sort of business, I would think that the installation process should be the best part of the whole experience. I decided to go with their competitor.
