Thousand Oaks Racquet and Fitness Club Complaint - Forced to resign

Review by cool granny on 2006-10-04
Prior to the new ownership and manager, I was employed at the Club for fifteen years as aerobic/fitness instructor and Director of the Aerobics Dept. After two months of working for the new owner and new manager, his daughter-in-law, I was forced to resign.

All my popular classes were taken away and so was my title as Aerobic Director. This happened out of the blue and to my amazement. The reason I was told was that they wanted to change the clientele. ????

The close-knit group of members that I had in my classes were amazed at their poor judgement and decision. No doubt, for whatever reason, she just wanted to get rid of me. Now, many of the people who were so happy at the Club are so UNhappy and disattisfied with the management. Some have gone to other facilities and our group has spread apart after 15 years of happy times.

It is a very sad situation. What use to be a Club where everyone was friendly and content has turned into a nightmare. I have never met anyone like **name removed**. She is a very bad manager and has ruined the reputation of what was once a family-oriented fitness and tennis club.

That was more than my 3 cents worth but I felt it had to be said.

Sorry for your loss of employment, but sometimes when ownership changes, there may be other drastic changes according to the whims and direction that the new owners want to take the facility. Hopefully, you will find new employment quickly. Good Luck!

I gotta agree with GLC, to the victor goes the spoils. Something like this is not your falt, or very unusual.
