Airport Marina Honda Los Angeles Complaint - Refused to honor negotiated price - Honda CRV

Honda CRV - Complaint
Review by marcaa on 2006-10-08
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- My wife and I spent approx. an hour negotiating the price for a 2006 CRV AWD with the salemsan and then his manager. We were in no hurry to purchase so the sales manager kept lowering the price from thousands over the MSRP finally to a price we agreed on.

We filled out finance forms and transfered money to put as down payment. When the salesmanger finally returned he told me he would not honor the price, offering instead a price approx. $2,000 more than we had just negotiated.

At this point the sales manager took the paperwork which showed his lowering the car's price to our agreed upon level. This was the written deal he had made.

We then spoke with the salesman's supervisor who told me he was under no obligation to honor a deal made by one of his salesmen, because he did not make the deal himself. When pressed he denied ever saying such a thing, instead denying there was never any deal to begin with.

Run, don't walk away from these folks. They are hoping you will figure, "well, it's only $2000" and go ahead and do the deal. Don't reward their behavior - run away and tell your friends.

Best thing that could have happened to you. I feel, had you made the deal, there would be many reasons you would wish you had not! I agree with Hugh, stay away from them.

That a typical scam at some car dealerships, knowing you are in a hurry to close the sale and will probably pay the extra two thousand. I hope you walked away from that phoney contract.

Before you judge a car dealer. Why didn't you stop and think about the fact that you probably were buying the car for no profit to them. They have the right to change their mind just you. What if you agreed to a price and after waiting for finance you have second thoughts and decide its too much. How would you like it if the sales mgr. told you that you had already agreed and thats its not right to change your mind. Remember they get paid on commission. You they sell the car for next to nothing, then they get paid next to nothing. You have no right to say they can't make a pay check.

Total crooks...

Dishonesty prevails...

Boiler room tactics... If you have to have a Honda, buy it somewhere else...

If these people represent Honda, buy another brand of car...

Totally agree. Sales manager put lot of pressure and are totally dishonest with what they agree on and do not honor their deals. They do not even agree to the privacy policy.
