Bank of America Informative - Overdraft Misinformation Provided by BOA
I was closing my account at BOA and incurred an overdraft. I called the number given and was told by Customer Service that as long as I paid it back on a regular basis, that would be fine. I started paying back, got a call a few weeks later saying it HAD TO BE PAID WITHIN 7 DAYS OR THEY WOULD REPORT ME TO THE CREDIT BUREAU, BANKS, I COULD NOT OPEN AN ACCOUT FOR 5 YEARS, etc. I told them what I was originally told, that I had not misunderstood what I was told, and the rep said that was too bad for, lots of BOA workers give out the wrong info. After going thru 5 phone nos. (25 rings at one end) I got a woman who told me I actually had another month or so. I had her reconfirm that and left the message on my answering machine. Wrote to t he pres. and will never have anything to do with BOA. Stupid people giving out incorrect info.
