WESTLAKE, OHIO -- When I signed up for AT & T phone / high speed internet I was told my phone line would be activated on August 25th. On August 26th I contacted AT & T via the number posted on their website because my phone line was still dead. They told me my line would be up and running in 3-5 days. The line was in fact activated in two days. However, when I received my first phone bill I was charged a $71 service fee! After numerous phone calls to their Customer Service, Billing, and Repair departments I was told this "fee" would not be waived and I would be charged an early deactivation fee if I canceled service. In a nutshell...this corporation charged be $71 to fix a phone line that wasn't working properly on the advertised date. And no, I was never contacted directly and no service representative ever stepped foot in my house. I strongly urge anyone considering AT & T to avaoid their product offerings. There is a reason they are so cheap with their rates. It goes with an age old saying, "You get what you pay for." Go cheap...get cheap service. I truly hope this review convinces just one person. If it does, it was well worth my time to type it. STAY AWAY FROM AT & T PHONE & INTERNET SERVICE!!!!
