Manny's TV and appliance store Complaint - Manny's TV and Appliance Store "We have to do better, we live here" slogan doesn't measure up!

WILBRAHAM, MASSACHUSETTS -- I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set 8/04 from Manny's TV and Appliance Store in Wilbraham, MA, and by 12/04, I had the Manny's repairman out twice for repair! When I called Manny's and complained that I felt that I had been sold a "Lemon", they stated that I could take it up with Maytag. I called Maytag and they informed me that they do not replace an appliance if it can be fixed. I told them that two different problems, within the same month, and within 4 months of owning the dryer, told me that this one was a "Lemon". Got no where with Maytag or Manny's! Well, in the beginning of 8/06, Yup!, the dryer wasn't working again, I called Manny's and they sent out a repairman and $200.00 later it was working. (I called Maytag too and no help, warranty of one year was up). End of 8/06, same month, Dryer not working again, called again and Manny's repairment came out and wanted another $200.00 to fix different problem. I declined. I spoke with Manny's and was offered no help other than repair and cost. Spoke with Maytag, same thing. One just refers to the other. So, I went to Sears and bought a new Kenmore dryer.
I will never buy a Maytag, of which I thought was the best brand I could buy, nor will I ever shop at Manny's. They just passed the problem to the manufacturer. How about standing by the products that you sell? Your slogan; "We have to do better, we live her" is empty. I intend to tell everyone that I can, about my experience with Manny's TV and Appliance in Wilbraham, MA.

Jrn I understand your problem because it is such a common problem in today’s world. Buy something and it breaks, the place where you got it from passes it on to the manufacture who says they don’t care (it is not our responsibility). This is a favorite term of the general public also except they pass it on by saying “ it’s not my responsibly”, Anyway back to the subject. Maytag and Kenmore make an inferior product now with to much emphasis on “gadgets” rather then on good workmen ship. One example: the washing machines have a “basket” underneath the one where you put you close, this “basket” use to be made of steel but now it is made of a light weight PVC or plastic. The first time you have a sharp object get in to one of the 100’s of holes in the first basket it cuts the one underneath and you have a leak. I could go on and on with how cheap things are made but I hope you get a better deal next time. Good luck
