Circuit City Complaint - Service Plann Worthless
LAFAYETTE, LOUISIANA -- After reading the customer ratings and some reviews on this HD set by Sony it recieved glowing reports from CNET and others.I purchased this set a floor model at discount with a full sony 1 yr warranty in tact and i bought the extended warranty for another 2 yrs. at a cost of $109.00.
Well after ten and a half months set won't power up.I called service over six times and emailed them numerous times before they gave me the name and number of the only authorized sony repair shop within a 75 mile radius of me.
I had to coridinate the service guy with the ext. warranty people because they had to wait on approval of milage charges to come get my set? This is almost laughable , im in the service and retail business and if i took over ten days to come and retrieve my product before i could get assurances of being paid to repair my product id loose my customer base for sure!
Twenty-three days into the saga still no TV! Latest news is back ordered parts! OMG I have all my email responses and questions, pleading some relief to lend me a set, fix my set or refund my purchase against another set, and all i get is their policy is to fix it asap, im told im on a fast track , first in line basic, talked to corp. headquarters to Donna she gave me an incident number along with call id numbers from all the emails i keep its a long paper chase.
Donna didn't keep her promise to call me back in two hrs, in fact she never called me back, her promise was to get my approval for milage charges to the service vendor in another city. I don't hold a grudge against the service guy, hes jumping thru hoops like me to get some paperwork approved so he can do his job.
But as for service they don't care ,and lie to calm you down but little is done to help you at all. My question for the cyber buds out here is whats is a reasonable repair time frame before it gets time to call a lawyer or get nasty like in store screaming matches???
Thanks for listening to my venting its therapy.
