NCO Financial Systems Informative - Complaint
I too received a bill from NCO in the amount of $14.95. My wife was going to pay it, but I decided to research it. So many people have been dunned by this company in the name of AOL. Can't help but wonder if NCO has any other clients besides AOL.
I wrote a letter refusing payment as I did not owe the money. Sent it registered mail. Haven't used AOL in over a year and never received a bill from them.
Wrote a letter to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, Fraud Unit. Refered them to this site.
Wrote a letter to the Philadelphia Better Business Bureau. Refered them to this site.
Wrote a letter to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Refered them to this site.
If you get a letter or phone call from these people, don't let this go, contact everyone you can think of and complain about them. Sooner or later, someone may get interested and do something.
My next step is to write to the three credit reporting bureaus, advise them of this scam and, of course, refer them to this site.
Ain't the internet great? Years ago, a scam like this would probably have gone unnoticed and unreported.
