Dr Jayne Hoffman DDS Complaint - $2,900 was charged, no work done, no refund

Review by Shinel on 2006-10-30
SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA -- Was told to pay $295.00 in cash for the exam,n this I did.
Was told to pay $2,600 for the work. Brought in the cash and at the last minute I decided to pay by credit card instead.
I found out the work was never authorised and no contact was made to my insurance company. I cancelled the appointment and she is refusing to give me my money back.

How did they charge you before any work was done? There would have had to be some kind of itemized billing on what was done , and if there was nothing done, then what did they write up? What did they turn into the insurance company that the insurance company denied and didn't authorize? Most places state that unless you cancel in a certain amount of time before your appointment, you will be charged, but that should only be for the office visit. Since the work was not done, you will have to dispute it with your credit card company.

I think something is missing from this complaint.

I may be wrong....but you can dispute this issue with your credit card company. More info would be nice.
