Comcast Corporation Complaint - Adding cable line
CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA -- If you want to avoid headaches, and don’t have Comcast yet, go with another alternative.
I’ve been trying to get an additional cable line installed in my townhouse for the past month. Reason being that the current placement of my cable does not reach the other side of my living room. A total length of approximately 7 feet.
During the past month, I have been experiencing nothing but frustration from the company with the slogan, “Taking Care of our Customers.”
My first call to Comcast, I was promised that installation would not be problem. Expecting a technician to arrive on the agreed date, no one showed.
I then rescheduled for the following week. A technician did arrive, but as soon as he noticed that I didn’t have a crawl space underneath my house he abruptly left saying that he couldn’t do anything.
Second call to Comcast, I asked for a different technician and rescheduled a visit for the following week. A technician did arrive, but only a day before my appointment. Not expecting a technician, I politely told him that I had a previous engagement, so to come back the following day according to the appointment. The next day was a No-Show.
Third call was made for another re-schedule. A technician came and I explained what I wanted. Because I live in a townhouse, I was told that he couldn’t drill a hole in my wall. Then I remembered what the second technician said to me. I was told that I can have in-house cabling. This would consist of running a cable along the floors and by the door running the cable above the door. I mentioned this to the technician, and without hesitation he flatly stated that it couldn’t be done. Basically he said any work at my house was impossible. The advice he gave me was to go to Radio shack, buy my own cable and do it myself. Makes you feel like a truely valued customer.
And to top it off, I asked for the technician’s name and he refused to divulge his name. And while leaving my house, he slammed the gate behind him.
Because of the unprofessionalism of Comcast they have agreed to lower my cable rate by $13 for the next 6 months. However they would not do anything about my lost wages for 3 weeks, about $1,200.
So if you don’t want any of the frustration and mental anguish that I experienced, you may want to consider DirectTV or Dish Network. This is what I have been telling all of my friends, and co-workers to do.
