Review by belli on 2006-11-03
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- Had a POOR hair dye job at Spanish fly hair garage in Sacramento, CA. Walked in with blonde hair, walked out with BLACK HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Over processed due to lack of attention, and poor hair experience and knowledge!!!!!!!!!! I also spent -$230 and had to take off work the nxt day to have this corrected. I also had to pay to have it corrected!!!!! LOW RENT!!!!! Also, have sores on head due to chemicals and now my hair is damaged and the worst color EVER!!!!! Not to mention sylist said I would not get my money back AND I am not welcome there!!!!!!! I never threw a fit until he said I wasn't welcome bk! I am the victim!!!!!!! This experience has been unbelievable! Emotionally it has been exhausting!!!!! What has happened to client care???? Very saddend by this experience!!!!!!

I don't know about California, but in my home state, hair salons are licensed and regulated by the state and the individual stylists must be licensed as well. This should be worth a compliant to whoever in your state regulates this industry. You are in Sacramento, call Arnold and ask him for the number. Good luck!

All this and it causes excessive use of exclamation points as well.

What a terrible thing to have happen. I know if hair is overproccessed, you get scalp problems. How about taking them to small claims court?? Also, take pictures of your scalp and head. Gather your evidence, receipts, documentation, etc. I see these kinds of cases on court shows and if you have good evidence, you maybe able to win.

Sorry, one more thing I wanted to add, that this is to me, a very bizzare name for a hair salon. But that's just what I feel. No offense intended what so ever.

Heaven17, LOL. Skye, I agree with you...she might have a case on Judge Judy...other wise, Belli, follow Hugh's advice..file a complaint with whomever licenses hair salon's in California.

I feel like we are missing out on a few details here. What color were you going for? What exactly did the do that cost $230?

As far as the small claims court suggestion goes, you might have trouble with that. You took the next day off to get the color corrected. How would anyone know that THAT dye job isn't the one that caused the burns? I personally don't know anyone that would touch your scalp if they already noticed the burns.

Thanks for the info on the small claims court. I don't think I will take it that far, not worth my time on that AWFUL place! I did contact the cosmetology board. As for the $230, which is redic., it was $80 for the lowlights, and $65 for the base, and the next day an additional $90. The sores on my head were there, couldn't see them very well, but when I washed my head that nxt AM it burned! Then with the additional process it made the sores into blisters, and now scabs! I went in with really blond hightlighted hair, and wanted LIGHT CARAMEL , and left with Xtra dark brown hair. Now not only is my scalp burned, and my hair damaged, but I am afraid to see someone to really fix it! The worst part is that its not a money thing anymore, but an unprofessional attitude that came with this whole incident. Can't believe how rude and mean people are these days!!

I have heard nothing but horrible things about that place! AND maybe they are hot if your blind and drunk. Plus black hair is hot if your a witch! Goth is out!

You know what is funny is that i was getting my hair done right next to you the day that you came back in to get your hair corrected. i completely remember you complaining the whole time and for the record your hair was not that dark at all. they just put a few highlights back in to fix it. i think if you were asked to not come back it was not because of the hair but probably the attitude.

Funny I didn't see anyone next to me while getting my hair re-fixed! Sounds like you work there. As for the attitude, lets see how thrilled you are when someone totally ruins your hair. Reguardless if my hair was black or brown, it was NOT what I asked for and I actually made it known I didn't want anything dark. Maybe its the "stylist", who has the attitude!Maybe if he actually was sincere about the situation, and not so rude I wouldn't be so upset. Saying I am sorry, goes a long way. Besides I found an amazing new stylist,so that is what counts now!

Oh my gosh ...how awful about your black witch hair...and you were drunk? I hope you were'nt driving...WOW!! I have an idea if you want pretty blonde hair with pretty service.... try ROCKLIN or even ROSEVILLE. They seem to be a little more fou fou and fake....maybe that's right up your alley. Hope that helps :-)

ha...... Ur pretty funny for a hair stylist! Now I know how you get people in Spanish Fly, you get them drunk to make them think they are getting good service and great hair! Great idea! Unfort. one day you may get hit with a nasty law suit for destroying someones hair! Or getting reported to the Cost. Board! Hum...... Not so funny anymore! Snobby, maybe because they can color good, fake, no only you!!!

Oh Lovely666, as for being right next to me while getting my hair done the day it was fixed? You must have been drunk too, cuz as I clearly remember NO ONE being in any chair anywhere next to me while getting fixed. Except the sylist! AND, if you "heard" me complaining, then you'd know that the stylist even said I was really nice and great considering the situation. Hum...... Didn't hear that, hey! And since my attitude was sooooo bad, I am surprised that the stylist gave me her card to come back. Was that fake, or was I drunk? You and Peter must obv. work there, cuz 3 other people that I have spoken with who have gone there have had a bad experience! They even posted it under Sacramento reviews. Maybe they were drunk too!
