McDonalds Corporation Complaint - Strange Pricing At Bradenton Florida McDonald's
BRADENTON, FLORIDA -- My husband and I grocery shop at the WalMart on Cortez Road in Bradenton, Florida... and while there we generally have lunch at the instore McDonald's. We have both been getting the Mighty Kids hamburger meal so we can get the toys for our granddaughter.
The price of the Mighty Kids hamburger meal is POSTED as $3.09...times 2 it would come to $6.18 plus 6% tax would make it a total of $6.55, yet last week and again on 1/27/02 when we ate there we were charged $7.11!!
BOTH times my husband complained about this overcharge and the managers said 'the sign must be wrong', but they have NOT, as yet, changed the price on the sign! We had to endure the glares and aggravation of the people in line behind us while the managers came out to check the posted price and did some checking in the back.
This restaurant is charging $3.35 for the Mighty Kids hamburger meal at the register, but the posted price is $3.09
We feel you may want to look into this as someone 'may' be pocketing the extra money they are receiving from the customer at the register. Maybe they are doing this with other meal packages as well. Granted, this is a matter of only 26 cents per meal, but add that up with the volume of people who eat at McDonald's and it could eventually become a nice chunk of change for someone.
We have always believed that the 'customer is always right' and because the posted price was $3.09 that is what we should be charged (NOT some hidden cost), but we ended paying the register price of $7.11 because we got no satisfaction from either manager!
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I feel you should look into this practice so that other people who 'don't do the math' won't be getting ripped off.
We will never eat at that restaurant again. We don't appreciate being 'ripped off' AND having people glare at us for questioning what we are being charged!
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
