Ashley Furniture Compliment - Positive Experiences - Carmel, Indiana
INDIANA -- I've only shopped at the Carmel, Indiana store. First Purchase: About 3 years ago I purchased a bedroom suite. It was nice looking and well-built but from cheap materials. It was VERY affordable and therefore a good value. I felt like I got what I paid for -- it was the best I could afford at the time.
Second Purchase: Last year I purchased a leather sofa, matching recliner, and a coffee table. Handsome pieces but they did take some shortcuts on quality. The seat bottoms and seat backs were quality leather but the rest was color-matched and texture-matched vinyl. Again such a shortcut helps keep the price low and has little effect on the life and use of the product. The sales people have always been very forward with me regarding the materials and construction of their products.
Third Purchase: Last month I bought another bedroom suite. This time I could afford better quality. I bought a very nice set. Still it is veneer, but the materials are very dense and heavy and the finish is rich and beautiful. The drawers are lined with real cedar. Had this set been solid wood, it would have cost two or three times as much as I paid. If that's what you want you should shop elsewhere.
Warranty Claims: I just made a claim for a tear on the sofa purchased last year. So far it has been "as advertised." I called the 800 number, faxed them a receipt. They already told me the damage is covered. About 3 days later a local repair shop called me to set up an appointment.
Bottom line: I think Ashley offers a good value. It's not high-end solid hardwood furniture, but you're not going to pay high-end prices either. The sales staff let me browse and waited for me to seek them out. In all three cases, my furniture arrived at the warehouse ahead of schedule and the delivery teams were clean, professional, prompt and quick.
