Bay Leaf Tire and Auto Complaint - "Unnecessary repairs and rude too"

Review by wolfpack on 2006-11-17
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- This has happended to me, my father in law and one of my friends. I went in for a simple state vehicle inspection and was told I needed to have my radiator fluid flushed "right away". I didn't bite because my father-in-law warned me they said the same thing to him - while his car was still under warranty. And then I learned of a friend who also got that recommendation from Bayleaf Tire and Auto for his Acura at 60K miles when the owners manual says the change should happen at 100K. I suspect they have some new radiator flushing machine they are trying to pay for - but I don't appreciate them doing it at my expense! Don't give into their high pressure unnecessary repairs.

Wolfpack I think you a correct in not falling for such an obvious scam that has nothing to do with a vehicle inspection. They probably got the idea from John Edwards.

(Lidman: naughty, naughty. LOL) I don't know how NC operates but several years back when my state (MI) required emissions inspection in order to renew your license tabs anually, the equipment used was provided and regulated by the state. Sounds like NC does it differently. What all do they inspect? In MI it was only emissions.

Ponie, now all they do is hook up to the cars computer which tell's them a lot more then just emissions but not "to have my radiator fluid flushed. lol .. J.E. is a crook like the rest of them.
