Kmart Complaint - Scanning error and Bad Customer Service
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO -- I went to the Kmart store #4131, to purchase a 12" Disney bike for my daughter. The bike was on sale for $39.99.
At the checkout register, there are no displays facing the customers to see what the price is when it is scanned. The credit card reader also did not display the price and I didn't know until the transaction was complete that the bike was incorrectly priced at $59.99. At that point, it was too late in the transaction to make a correction. The cashier called the store manager who verified the $39.99 sale price and told me I had to go to the customer service desk to get the refund.
He could have sent me on my way a happy customer if he had just taken 2 minutes to walk over there with me and immediately fix the stores scanning error. Instead, I was told to go wait in line to get Kmart's scanning error fixed.
I asked them to fix the stores error at the register where I had checked out. The cashier said she couldn't and she called the Manager back over again. He finally walked over to the customer service desk himsef to get Kmart's scanning error fixed and credit my account.
At that point, I was so dis-satisfied that I decided on a full refund (and merchandise return). I think I can get the same bike for the same price at Target and Walmart.
My family will never buy anything from Kmart or (Sears which is owned by Kmart)again. It is now my opinion that Target, Home Depot, Lowes and Walmart are much better merchandisers.
