Cingular Wireless Complaint - Cingular prepaid phone service is scam
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- This companys policy may not be any different from other cellular phone companies prepaid service, but it is still a scam! I went to local Cingular store and signed up for their prepaid service. I wanted the prepaid service because I only want to leave in car in case of emergency. The phone came with a $50 card which expires in 90 days. That means if you don't purchase another prepaid card in 90 days you lose all the time you now have left on your account. I have around $20-30 still remaining. My time ran out yesterday (Sunday) and I go today to get another card because my phone wasn't working today. I was told that my 90 days ran out & I had lost the minutes I already have in my account. But I could still buy another card for 90 days and not lose my phone number. This is a total scam. I understood at purchase time there was a grace period to buy a new card before losing time you had in your balance. They never warn you that your card or time is about to run out. Everytime you make a call it tells you how many minutes you have left but not when it expires. Even when you call their so called information it give no such information. It's like they want your card to run out so you'll have to purchase all new card & minutes. If they wanted you to realize you time was running out the would have a way to warn you a couple days in advance.
