Target Informative - Target's Return Service/Policy is AWFUL
BAY AREA, CALIFORNIA -- I used to like Target a lot, but I am beginning to like them a lot less now. Their return service is just terrible. I've only returned a few things there, but everytime I've gone I have encountered complaints from others and I can see why. One lady tried to return a blowdryer with a receipt and it was not used, but they wouldn't do it for her. She stormed out of there and after she left the associate said "if she'd been nicer, maybe I would have done it for her". The following week I tried to return a small (less than $5) item without a receipt and the clerk told me that she could only give me about half of what I had paid for it. I asked her if the item was on sale or something and she told me "no it's not, but without a receipt I can only give you a portion of the actual price it is". That's the stupid thing I've ever heard. This was a household item that you can purchase almost everyday for the same regular price and it was not on sale or clearance, yet she could only give me a portion of what I paid for it because I didn't have my receipt. I told her to forget it, but honestly, I do not want to shop at a store that rips off it's customers all of the time.
