Comcast Corporation Informative - Self Install Kit - BEWARE OF THEIR SCAM !!!!
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON -- Those who opt for the Comcast ON DEMAND Cable Box "SELF INSTALL KIT " do not be fooled by the activation reps.
Comcast appears to have deliberately botched the activation of my cable box and then said that I hooked it up incorrectly, when it was hooked up perfectly !
I am a mutichannel communications center specialist, and the fact is, comcast is defrauding consumers from coast to coast with
this scamm. They deliberately botch your activation and insist that you need a tech rep to enter your home and hook up the simple box.
RF in and out to TV. How complicated is that. It dont take a rocket scientist. So Comcast will send out 2 service reps. At about a cost of $40.oo to the consumer, one rep enters the home and pretends to be doing things with his cell phone and a little box with a red light on it, while the other rep is outside changing out all of comcasts out-dated cable splitters and filters that are blocking the On Demand frequencies from entering your home, and getting to the perfectly connected cable box.
So, Comcast scams the consumer into paying for them to come out and replace their own equipment, when their really was NO-PROBLEM inside the house.
Now lets say Comcast is successful at scamming one million self installers nation wide. That's $40 million in Comcast's bank account. Makes this scam quite profitable I'd say.
PLEASE make comcast come out and fix all the splitters and filters outside your home before agreeing to a service call that costs you money. There is no reason the consumer should be paying comcast to do their own upgrading. I think we are all already paying for that with the already outrageously high prices they charge for these alledged services.
BEWARE SELF INSTALLERS - DONT BE FOOLED
