Arbetter Hot Dogs Compliment - Great place to eat
COCOA, FLORIDA -- While I was down in Florida doing some research work at Kennedy Space Center, I stumbled upon this place called Arbetter Hot Dogs in Cocoa. I for one am a sucker for old, individually owned fast food joints because they're usually better than huge corporate joints. I was correct on my assumption. The restaurant is old (I'm guessing it has been around since the 60s or 70s), but nothing has changed. They still take orders by pencil and paper and shout to the back cook to make the stuff. Plus they have millions of things to choose from, including some nice combos. Anything from hot dogs with various toppings to cheese fries to nachos to fried clams, etc. They also have a wide variety of ice creams. Only problem is its a bit pricy and they only accept cash (no credit/debit). I like their deep fried (and when I mean deep fried, I mean DEEP) corn dogs and french fries. The restaurant is small but it's always kept clean and there are old signs faded out from the sun, which is a nice touch. Too bad there is no music playing. Boston's "Let me take you home tonight" would have been a nice touch. I think zzrokk should go to this place and review it next.
