Mansfield University, PA Informative - Teaching

Review by don1111 on 2006-12-22
MANSFIELD, PENNSYLVANIA -- Manfield does not evaluate their teachers. One of the teacher has classes of 40 with only 3 in that class that pass. This person has been for 20 some years and does not speak understandable English. He writes an entire problem on the board and gets to the end and then says oh no that's wrong and erases everything and starts over completely different and gets a completely different answer.

Where do parents go for help?

Reminds me of my days as an undergraduate in Engineering. Professors would lecture, and we had teaching assistants that ran the daily classes. Most of them could not speak English. Half the time I had no idea what was being said. Needless to say my grades suffered that year. But it did get better. By my 2nd and 3rd year, the teaching staff quality had risen tremendously. Perhaps talk to the school about getting a tutor or a translator. That might alert them to the problem.

Ahhhh, sounds so familiar.

Contact the chair of the department and that should get some sort of response.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!
