Zoomies Complaint - Very poor customer service
AURORA, ILLINOIS -- A few weeks ago I went to Zoomies in Fox Valley mall in Aurora Illinois. My 2 sons wanted new skate decks for christmas so I decided they could pick them out since I dont have a clue about that kind of stuff. Well, there was a gentelman, probaly early 20's, in the back that decided to wait on us. I saw a sign on the counter that clearly said prices for 3 different kids of complete decks. He said in order to get cheapest price we had to pick a deck with a red sticker. My boys wanted a different kind so the gentlmen told us it would be $115 complete. Then he helped my boys pick out trucks, wheels, bearings etc. At the very end he asked what kind of grip tape they wanted. I saw on the sign it said and I quote "Free grip tape, $4.95 and under" so I told him we wanted the cheaper one. He said ok.
Well, after getting to the counter the total I thought it should be after he clearly said it would be $115.00 per deck for a total of $230 plus tax was instead a total of $323.00 including tax. When I asked why the total was different a lady explained that we purchased upgraded items. I then went on to explain that the person helping us didnt say anything about buying only certain kinds of accessories. Grudginly I paid because my boys wanted these so bad. I was told to come back in 20 minutes and the boards would be put together and ready. I told her I had a lot of other shopping to do so I may be a while. She said fine, when ever as long as Im there before closeing. Well, 2 and a half hours later I return and guess what??? Boards arent ready! Another gelentlemen went to check in back and said come back in 20 minutes. When I returned again they werent ready and the 2nd gentlmen said something to the effect that he was going to take over because the other guy was slow and didnt know what he was doing. In about 10 minutes I had the boards. I called customer service the next day. I allreayd paid for the boards but I just want them to know that the salesman on the floor should not be quoting wrong prices and it shouldnt take over 3 hours to put together a board when Im told 20 minutes. Customer service lady said she was emailing "Randy" which is the district manager for that store and I also left him a phone message. Its been 2 weeks and I havent heard from any one. To me this seems like Zoomies doesnt care about their customers. Thats ok, cause I told my boys to go to skateshack,rq,vans.
