Top-mac-software.com Complaint - Bait and switch practice

Review by writedmc on 2006-12-23
I was looking for real player to view video because nothing plays on a mac. I can't watch video from BBC NYtimes, weather channel page, nothing. I see this company www.top-mac-software.com and they have what I need. I get the lifetime membership for $28.88 and when I get to the end, discover I've paid for a "security update" of $9.95 without ever choosing it, and here's the kicker: when I accessed the site to download real player I got an expired page error message!!

I'm always leary of sites that have too many dashes in their domain name. In this case it seems my suspicions would be correct! The site looks professional, but it is fairly new (created in Aug. 2006). If you have trouble getting them to respond to your inquires, try the following contact information:

Mike Templeton
mickeyblue61@hotmail.com
819-254-8597 (Canada)

He seems to be the owner of the domain/company.

Good luck!

This seems to be a common practice on a lot of the software sites. They sell you something and at the end or when you get the "e mail" saying you bought also something else and it will be billed to you every year unless you cannel and that is hard to do. Good luck
