Viking Sewing Machines Inc Complaint - Reader/Writer Non-performance

Complaint
Review by tmims@worldnet.att.net on 2002-02-13
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA -- This is to register a complaint with Husqvarna equipment purchased for my Husqvarna Viking 1+ sewing machine that is defective and will not perform as advertised by your Company. After several e-mail attempts along with professional computer assistance and many dollars in expense, I have been unable to get any satisfaction from your Company employees concerning my Reader/Writer and accompanying software.

My computer professional has done everything in his power to try to get the Reader/Writer to perform. He actually removed ALL programs from the hard disc, added a new printer port, removed my printer drivers from my computer; however, the Reader/Writer would not work as advertised at any time. My computer professional said there was nothing more he could do.

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

So...here I am with $800 equipment that will not perform. What would you do? I think the only answer is for Husqvarna Viking to refund my full purchase price. Is that reasonable to you? It is to me, if only to have a customer who is happy and will have good thoughts about a Company she thought was reputable and who has invested $3500 in a sewing machine.

At this point, I am completely dis-satisfied with your Reader/Writer and software connected with this more than $800 purchase. I have asked for a refund of all my purchase price of this equipment - at which time I will more than gladly return your defective equipment either to an address you require or to the Husqvarna dealer here in Birmingham.

Please do me the courtesy of a reply to my complaint. As of this day the only reply to me was that my complaint dated 1-25-02 would be forwarded to a Supervisor who has not done me the courtesy of any answer.

Thank you for taking your time to give my request your consideration.

At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.

Most sewing machines are throw-away not. They can not be repaired. Be very careful when you purchase one, make sure it has a model number. If it doesn't, it is a throw-away.
