Yahoo Geocities Complaint - Yahoo Music Online Membership is deceptive - Online Music Membership
Online Music Membership - Complaint
I recently signed up for Yahoo Online music membership, "buy one year, get one free" through a Mastercard promotion. All web screens leading up to this promised a 14 day free trial period - nothing saying the promo was exempt from the trial. When I cancelled my membership within the 14 day trial period, they would not refund my $119. They said the trial period did not apply. They sent me a link to the page that had the terms and conditions - this page did not say the free trial did not apply.
Also, before signing up, it wasn't clear on the site that the music that came with this membership was very limited in what you could do with it; was downloadable to only a few MP3 players and not burnable to CDs at all.

This advice is too late to help your situation but maybe others can be helped.
Anytime you are about to enter your credit card or bank account information on line you need to read the Terms of Service carefully. Most of the time there is a 'gotcha' in there somewhere. When you see the word FREE in the ad that should be your first clue to look for thier way out.
Most of these online companies are not out there to make you happy. They only desire to separate you from your money.
In short: Read...Understand...BE CAREFUL...BEFORE you let them access your money.

I had a similar problem with Yahoo music in connection with the Mastercard buy 1 year, get 1 free offer. Their customer service was completely unresponsive and they wouldn't even let me speak to a manager. I've cancelled my subscription. That would appear to be the only thing they might understand.
