Taco Bell Complaint - Very Poor Service/Food
I went to Taco Bell in Maple Shade NJ to order some food for my family. First, they tell me they're out of cinnamon twists, one of my daughter's favorite snacks. No problem, I think to myself, so I got her the Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes instead. I waited nearly 20 minutes for my food. (One customer paid, waited five minutes, then walked out...without his money being refunded.)
When I got home, my boyfriend and I realized they had forgotten my steak quesadilla. And then we found that his chalupas had nearly nothing in them. And everything was cold. The Mexican pizza my boyfriend ordered looked like something that crawled out of somebody's, well, you know what. It was all soggy, with no cheese on it, and it just looked terrible. It tasted terrible, and yes, it was cold.
I went back to the Taco Bell, kindly and politely pointed out that they had forgotten the steak quesadilla. Then I see one of the workers behind the counter hand a plastic Taco Bell bag FULL of cinnamon twists to a friend of his over the counter, and said to her "I had to tell a couple customers we didn't have any more, but here ya go." To which I said "Yeah, one of those customers was me." And he fell silent.
I also mentioned that the food was cold, and the chalupas had nearly nothing in them. I asked if I brought the food back, could I get my money back, to which I was told "No. You took it home, we can't refund it." (This is not true as I myself have worked at Taco Bell when I was in high school.)
I took my quesadilla home and figured I'd talk to the manager the next day about it. I tried calling the store for four hours before I gave up and called corporate. I related my experience, after which I was told that it would be passed to my particular store's distric manager.
Within 3 hours I received a call from the DM, who apologized profusely, and offered me a refund for the full cost of my meal in addition to free food vouchers. I accepted, but I sure as heck won't use the vouchers at the Maple Shade Taco Bell!
All in all, I was happy with how the DM handled it, but it shouldn't have even gotten that far.
