Self Storage Companies Informative - Illegal Late Fees - storage space

Review by storagealert on 2007-01-06
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I am investigating excessive late fees disguised as other charges in the self storage industry.

Leases often list late fees and then separate fees like "pre-foreclosure fee" and letter writing fees.

It is an illegal circumvention of state law regulating maximum late charges. Victims unite!!

Are there any fees if you aren't late?

2 different things. whether a company is violating maximum limits in its lease contracts is different than the number of people who actually pay the amount. sorta like a snyper shoots at you and misses - do you agree he should be stopped even if you weren't shot?

Self-service storage companies are indeed circumventing California law limiting late fees. If you have been subject to "pre-foreclosure fees", "lien notice fees" or something similar, we want to hear from you! Your experience with these disguised late fees may be valuable in protecting your and others' consumer rights. Contact: Finkelstein & Krinsk LLP, William R.
