eBay/PayPal Complaint - More evidence (as if any was needed) of eBay arrogance
You've heard it all before, especially in complaints about eBay/PayPal. A customer is defrauded and gets punished for his efforts to get compensated and set the record straight. Last spring, after years of mostly buying and occasionally selling on eBay, I noticed fees had been deducted from my bank account via PayPal for eBay listings I had nothing to do with...hundreds of dollars that would've turned into thousands if I hadn't caught it in time (though if I hadn't been traveling at the time, I'd have spotted what was happening sooner). I promptly removed the checking account I'd had on file with eBay since the beginning, and after weeks of wrangling got eBay to shut the bogus seller down--at least as a parasite on my account, though for all I know (and eBay isn't telling) this creep has since found other legitimate buyers & sellers to bleed.
Since October eBay has done a characteristic dodge-and-feint, first offering to refund the money it took to my current eBay-connected bank account and then saying it couldn't (telling me I'd have to restore the previous account), then claiming to have made a partial refund to me via PayPal (which I never received and which PayPal has been no help in tracking down)and finally suspending my account with no explanation after I complained that I was sick of being given the runaround. Conveniently for eBay, it now can't seem to find a way to pay me. Its "customer service" department now just ignores me instead of bothering with more lame excuses and obtuse demands (e.g., you must fax us reams of personal information if you ever hope to see the money we initially promised to send you with no hassle).
I should just give up, I know, but that's exactly how eBay/PayPal continues to get away with abusing people...by just wearing them down. Any suggestions anyone?
