Compact Appliance.com Complaint - Extortion of $144.38 / incomplete refund
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- On 6-23-06 I ordered a portable air conditioner from this company for $571.55. On 6-24-06 I tried to cancel the order online and could not. When I called the customer service number the operator could not help me. I sent an e mail to them on that day which I have a copy of to cancel the order. When I refused to accept delivery, it was sent back, and the company charged me a "restocking fee" of $144.38. The company lied to me and my credit card company stating that they didn't receive my e mail to cancel. I sent a copy of the e mail to them, and they refused, to give me all my money back. The point is that I cancelled the order days before the unit was shipped out. This company is a bunch of greedy lowlifes who will lie and cheat to make up for their incompetence. Do not purchase from this company, for you can see their example of customer service.
