Gateway Seafood Restaurant Complaint - Will Not Return to Gateway Seafood
HAGERSTOWN, MARYLAND -- We took a party of six and were looking forward to visiting this newly renovated restaurant near Hagerstown, Maryland. We spent $150 for one entree, 18 steamed crabs, six cups of soup, four soft drinks, and two glasses of water.
During our two-hour visit we were the only family seated in the entire large restaurant. Even so, the waitress was abrubt and rude with us for taking her away from the bar. Our Cream of Crab soup was as cold as tapioca pudding. The steamed crabs must have been cooked when dead, as the "meat" ran out like a white paste when the claws were cracked. The staff became angry when we politely complained, kicking the kitchen door and mumbling under their breath. As my wife and I, my three daughters, their 82 year-old grandfather left the restaurant, the staff was sharing our compaints with the bar patrons, laughing, and snearing.
This was truly the worst experience any of us have ever had in a restaurant.
