Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Car return damage claim
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I rented a mini van from the Sanford airport (Orlando Florida) Enterprise rental car.
I had the car three days and it was parallel parked at a resort all the time except when I drove back to the airport.
I am positive that no damage occurred when driving to or from the airport.
When I returned due to an early flight there were no Enterprise employees to check me in so I did as instructed and did a quick walk around in the parking area then dropped the keys in the key box.
Days later I had a call from Enterprise informing me that they were charging my credit card for damage.
The damage they claimed was on the passenger side front fender. It was up high on the fender. This was the area that was alongside the curb while the car was parked.
I objected and explained there was no way that damage could have been caused while I had the car.
They said it may have been caused in the parking lot after I had left it (I think this is possible by the way) however that was still my responsibility even though I had left the car in their space and returned the keys.
I asked how I was supposed to protect a car that I had turned in and then left on an airplane. They were deaf to this logic.
I refused to pay until they turned it over to a collection company. I am going to have to pay because I do not want my credit ruined for $400.
I will NEVER rent from Enterprise again. Beware of these scam artists. I know that damage was not caused while I had the car.
