All My Sons Moving Company Complaint - Scammed for $ - moving service

Review by lvlver on 2007-01-11
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I recently moved into a house from an apt. Only across town. My boyfriend hired All my Sons movers. He was told on phone that the fee was $80 an hour with a 2 hour minimum. No problem/we didnt have that much furniture. Loading up at our apt, 3 employees showed up, 1-the supervisor-Im guessing, stood around watching- the other 2 worked so slow that after 2 hours, my boyfriend and I started moving the stuff into the truck ourselves!!!! Still the Supervisor stood there watching us load our own stuff. I was so mad, I started to let loose on the guy, but he couldnt have cared less. When they got to our new home, the guy told us it will be $400. He locked the truck up as he told us this. We called the office to ask what is up with this kind of baloney, but no help. We paid, reluctantly, he unlocked the truck and it only took 1/2 hr to unload! Hmmm. They purposely stalled to get more money out of us. I have never been mad as I was. I felt helpless, and the fact that the guy wouldnt unload the truck until we paid 400 dollars was criminal. Do not use these guys!!! Use fathers and sons movers. I used them a while back and loved them! Thanks for listening!

Unfortunately this scam is all too common with moving companies. I remember Dateline or some other news show doing a hidden camera investigation with a fake move. I think around 75% or more of them charged a boat load more at the end of the move. Ridiculous.

I would have paid them to get my stuff back, and then sued them in small claims court if there was nothing in the service contract (and if one was signed) that made no mention of added fees.
