Neutrogena Corporation Compliment - Best foundation ever! - Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation

Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation - Compliment
Review by Leela on 2007-01-12
VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA -- I recently recieved the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers powder foundation as a gift.

For those of you looking to try something different from traditional liquid or powder foundations, I highly recommend this product for several reasons.

The powder is light and easy to apply. The brush is actually built right into the container. It feels like you aren't wearing any foundation at all!

Their is definitely a different look to your skin. Loreal's site describes this look as 'radiant', and, I would have to agree.

Although I recieved this product as a gift, and didn't initially know the price, I did look it up. It was comparable to how much I typically spend on cosmetics.

I would definetly buy this product next time I'm in need of foundation!

Will it work on my Birth mark? I mean will it cover it up?

The best companies know how important it is to have a solid foundation.

Lidman, no. This product is used as a foundation. You would need a concealer to cover a birth mark.

What's that?

Exactly what it sounds like.

What do you mean? I am new to this stuff...

Aw, c'mon, Lidman. If you want my cosmetics advice, you are just going to have to pay for it.

OK how much?

I was just looking at that stuff yesterday but didn't get it. Maybe I will have to give it a try!

I shall give it a try too. Sounds like the Bare Minerals stuff...

Hey Lid, Dermablend makes a foundation to cover birthmarks...my mother had big portwine birthmark and, while it's a little thick, it worked beautifully.

I find that most commercial makeup lines do not have good color choices for people who are biracial (black/white). I have even gone to Ulta and had them test about 5 shades and mixes on me and they don't have anything good.

Anyone know of a good line (no animal testing) that is heavy enough to cover freckles and a few acne scars but that isn't thick as spackle? It also has to have a very wide color range...

Hey Just, try Flori Roberts-it's designed for women of color. It's a department store makeup, so you can sample it and try it on before you buy it. I just checked the list of cosmetics that ARE tested on animals, FR isn't on it.

Okay, after reading this, I went out and tried this stuff. I paid $12.00, not bad, but had only three shades to choose from. I played with this stuff in varying degrees for over an hour and it did not cover the tiny red mark on my nose, it didn't cover the differences in skin tones on my face. It was like a face power and no matter how little or much I used, it settled and was orange looking. It shouldn't be called foundation because it covers nothing. I'm very glad it worked for you, but with respect, it was like lighting a match to perfectly good money.

SherryH, most foundations don't cover my imperfections, either. I still feel the need to use a little concealer here and there.

I guess I just really liked the feel of it on my face, and, for normal coverage, it did very well.

I am very sorry it didn't work for you as well as it did for me.
