Soccer Plus Complaint - Return policy, customer service

BLOOMFIELD, MICHIGAN -- On 12-8-2007 I purchased 2 pair of soccer shorts for my daughter as a Christmas present. Since it was a present, and she wasn't there to try them on, I bought 2 pair knowing that I would bring one back. Sales person Mike Sherbow told me that I could bring back one pair after Christmas for a refund, but to make sure I brought them to him. On 1-12-07 I brought back the shorts with the sales receipt and tags still on the shorts but was told that Mike couldn't "remember" telling me that he would give me a refund and the manager talked to me on the phone. Her name was Kristin Callaway-Ward. She was completely unwilling to honor the promise that Mike had made. I told her that the store was out of my way, that my daughter was picky and probably wouldn't want anything else from the store and that I never would have bought 2 pairs in the first place if I wasn't told I could bring them back for a refund. I will never purchase anything from this store again.

exba, I don't understand why they would not take them back it wasn't that long. What is there normal return policy?

on the bottom of their receipt it says no returns on sale items. When I bought the shorts, they were having a 10% off sale.

Soccer Plus has a thirty day return policy for all purchases. Your shorts were purchased during our holiday sale, which included a $10 gift certificate (of which you did not bring back) with every purchase over $50 and every item in the store was marked down. During this promotion, there were no cash refunds, however we were more than happy to offer store credit. At the bottom of our receipts, it states that there are no cash refunds on sale items, and your return was over the thirty day policy also stated on our receipt. However, we still offered you a store credit which you were not technically entitled to. We were happy to order any product from our vendors since there was nothing in the store that interested you but this was not acceptable. During your phone conversation with Kristin, you started raising your voice and yelling immediately, and would not let Kristin ask any questions or offer any resolution. After this conversation, you proceeded to throw the phone onto the ground. You then demanded the store credit which was originally offered while putting the shorts back into your purse. Soccer Plus prides itself on its customer service, but we do expect our customers to behave maturely and professionally. We do hope you come back to our store, but you will be expected to act in a more professional manner than your past visit.
